Review:
Overview:
Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 has become a game changer in Indian mobile phone industry in more than one ways. For sure, it has created a new benchmark for affordable Android mobile phones. Galaxy Y is made with average Indian mobile phone user in mind, who is price conscious but wants all goodies in his phone. Samsung has definitely succeeded in making the average Indian consumer happy. In so far, Galaxy Y is the lowest priced Android mobile phone from Samsung.
Advantages:
Android OS v2.3.5 (Gingerbread) in combination with 830MHz processor and TouchWiz UI is the best combination one can find in any lower end android phones. And add 3G data transfer speed of 7.2 Mbps HSDPA plus Quad-Band GSM and dual-band 3G support, this phone becomes quite a useful one. Camera is only a 2 MP one, but it has Geotagging feature and we find that for the price of the phone, the camera is sufficient. A 3 inches QVGA TFT touchscreen with QVGA TFT touchscreen and 256K colour is just enough for this phone but resolution of the screen leaves a lot more to be deserved. Galaxy Y has Stereo FM radio with RDS and 3.5mm audio jack for audio entertainment. Swype text input,Social network integration, stereo Bluetooth 3.0, Document viewer, Accelerometer and proximity sensor plus GPS receiver with A-GPS add more value for this phone.
Disadvantages:
The main drawbacks of Galaxy Y pertain to the screen resolution and camera. Screen resolution is of very minimal quality and at times it can hurt your eyes. But lowering the brightness can help to some extent. Also low screen resolution means lesser number of compatible apps. The camera is only 2 MP and it is a fixed focus camera without camera flash. But lack of a secondary camera is going to make a lot many people disappointed. Video recording also leaves much to be desired.
