Sony Xperia U is a mid range Android 4.0 ICS phone which features Android OS v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and (power of two in one) Dual-core Processor with clock speed of 1 GHz. The Graphics is enabled by Mali-400MP GPU and the processor is supported by STE U8500 Chipset. The phone sports 3.5 inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen with good resolution of 480 x 854 pixels with 16M colors. It also has virtual QWERTY, multi-touch input (up to 4 fingers) and comes with Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine, Timescape UI and the screen is made of Scratch-resistant glass.

The phone can connect to both bands 2G (GSM) and 3G (HSDPA). The Data connectivity is processed through GPRS (Up to 107 kbps), EDGE (Up to 296 kbps) and also through Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, DLNA.
